2010 Fall Hunting



2010 fall hunting on the plains. This is going into our 2nd year up around Ralls, Texas. Unlike the first year there is no snow and not much water. Very dry and dusty for us and the dogs and not many birds but we made the most of it!

Another day, another hunt!  This time for ducks, geese and crane! We moved around a lot. The birds were smart and there is not much cover out on the plains but we did manage to get a few.

 

 

Yes, I am standing on ice!!

 

Yes, they are walking on ice!! Think they were trying to see how thick it was?  Out in the middle was the spot all the birds were heading to and we wanted to get closer.

Alright. This is why there are never pictures after the hunt witht the dogs and the birds! 1) they never sit still 2)its night and 3) the eyes! This was the best i could do! Need to take pictures in the middle of the day... now if I could only remember!

Hunting on the South Plains of Texas

 

There were many places for us to hunt around our new home and every chance that we had we went out. It really was beautiful country. Wide open, snow and cold! The dogs hunted everything from upland birds, ducks and geese!

New home... new beginnings

We had moved up to the big town of Ralls, Texas. With that we had the joy of having SNOW!!! This was one of the first hunts plus some fun in the snow shots! We didn't get any birds this hunt but boy did we have fun hunting the dogs in Texas.... in snow!  BKP~

Fresh look

New look!!! Working out the kinks though. Its been a long time since I have posted and its like learning all over again how this works! So hang in there and I hope I can get it to all look right again.

New Places...

We are finally getting settled in to our new home! Yea!!! Don't worry we have had fun too. Almost every day since we have moved up here we have been able to hunt either quail, pheasant, duck, geese and even crane and that all spells FUN. Our dogs have done wonderful and we really have enjoyed our season, even though we didn't make it to Kansas and Missouri this year. There is always next season...right?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

We have been busy moving to West Texas and hunting and I have not had a chance to take any pictures... but soon I hope to have some up of our 2009 hunting season!

Angel (Copper and Kylie's puppy from their 1st litter) is turning out to be great in the field, she loves some pheasant!!! Copper and Kylie are not to be out done by the little girl and are still proving to be great bird dogs as well!
