Come and get it...

Do you see the one in the middle? Yes, that's right she is turned around the other way.

She will eat like this every time. She starts out like everyone else the "normal" way, but without letting go she turns around so shes one her back. I wonder how she will eat her dog food?!

Here's Looking at you...

We can see eyes!! Yeah!! I found out on the Internet that even though they are open they cant actually see, its all fuzzy. This little one will see shadows but in another week should see perfectly clear. This one is called Little Bit because she is the smallest out of all 11 and LB is also the first one to open her eyes. I think she knows she is special :)

The correct way to nap...

According to a puppy these are the best ways to take a nap...

1)Always cuddle with someone. This provides you a very nice pillow.

2)Sleep with mom, this way you might be first to eat.

3)On your back, tummy or side.

4)Again, the back is always good.

5)In the corner, this provides a great escape cover. They think your asleep but really your going to run.

6)Grab a pillow, puppies are excellent pillows.

7)With your tongue out.

8)Dog pile, this keeps you very warm.

9) The 3 pup dog pile, less crowding.

and...
10) On top of the dog pile.

Little runaway...

The past few days this is what has been happening. This also happens during the night, fun right. Puppies trying to runaway! One thing for sure, the box is not tall enough at all. I wonder what it will be like when their little eyes are open?

For having their eyes closed still they can move around or out in this case really good.

Kylie will go outside the box for peace but they know she is there.

My favorite picture! Baking in the sun and yes out of the box.
Copper and one of his little girls.

The one on the left is our little bit. She is so tiny then everyone else and look she to is out!

They know she is there, just right outside. Poor girl no alone time at all.

This happened today, the camo bed is much more comfy than the warm blanket.

Hunting Trip...

Here are just a few of the best pictures from our hunting trip in '08. Its always hard to get a good picture when we are out hunting in the fields.

Here is a picture with a lot of pheasants.
They just keep on coming out.

Geese migrating.
Look close you can see them landing, it looks like a tornado.

Where did they come from...

Here is a copy of both Copper and Kylie's pedigrees. They each have a strong background in hunting which includes a DC- Dual Champion, a FC- Field Trail Champion and a NFC- National Field Champion. There are still many other great dogs on each pedigree that are not title holders but are big in the GSP world that also contribute. I have found one web site that gives a great history on the breed with many pictures of GSP's great sires and their pedigrees also. I highly recommend everyone to take a look it has some great information! www.westwindgsps.com

Happy New Year!

Wow its been crazy around here and I need to catch everybody up on whats going on. Kylie was bred to Copper in mid November, so that means puppies any day now!! Then there was Thanksgiving which was busy and during that time we managed to work the dogs on live birds. We usually try to work them on quail and pheasants before we go up north for our annual hunting trip that we take. Both did very well...

Here is Copper on point,

Kylie retrieving her bird,

she had fun like always,
and here is both on point. Copper is getting better about hunting with Kylie, he has calmed down so much and will work on his own instead of following Kylie everywhere in the field, yes! Normally we hunt them one at a time so maybe this year they can hunt together.

Happy Hunting!

In the next post I will tell you about our trip, so for now your up to date. ~BKP~
